OpenAI’s GPT-6 Sol and GPT-6 Luna now available

GPT-6 Sol and Luna join Astra in Copilot's model picker, with Sol on Pro+ and up and Luna available from the Pro plan.
GitHub Copilot's GPT-6 lineup now has three models. GPT-6 Sol is a balanced model for interactive and agentic coding, aimed at development tasks that benefit from careful, multistep validation. GPT-6 Luna is a lightweight, cost-efficient model for smaller, faster tasks, and the lowest-cost option in the GPT-6 family. Both join the previously released GPT-6 Astra and are billed under usage-based billing.
- GPT-6 Sol is available on Copilot Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise plans.
- GPT-6 Luna is available on Copilot Pro, Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise plans.
- Both appear in the model picker in Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, Copilot CLI, GitHub Copilot cloud agent, the Copilot app, github.com, GitHub Mobile, JetBrains, Xcode, and Eclipse, rolling out gradually.
