GitHub Copilot weekly releases — September 7
Jira issues reach the Copilot app, CLI gets adaptive model routing, VS Code adds scheduled agent tasks, and JetBrains gains enterprise sandbox controls.
This week's GitHub Copilot changelog touches four surfaces: the Copilot app, Copilot CLI, VS Code, and Copilot for JetBrains.
- Copilot app: Jira issues can now be pulled into a shared canvas, where you choose which ones move forward and Copilot carries the context through investigation, implementation, and pull request preparation.
- Copilot CLI: a new option called Project HydraFusion is available in /experimental. Selected like any other model, it automatically routes each task between local, cloud, and compound models to balance performance, cost, and latency.
- VS Code 1.137: agent tasks can now be scheduled to run hourly, daily, or weekly, or triggered on demand, through a new automations feature in public preview. An experimental voice mode lets you talk to, interrupt, or redirect Copilot while it works.
- Copilot for JetBrains: enterprise-managed sandbox policies are now in public preview. Administrators can centrally control sandbox enablement, filesystem and network access, proxy settings, developer-tool access, and macOS Keychain access, and these managed restrictions take precedence over a user's own settings.
