Enterprise-managed settings support any default model
You can now set your preferred GitHub Copilot model as the default for new conversations through enterprise-managed settings.
GitHub now lets enterprise admins set a default Copilot model for new conversations through enterprise-managed settings, instead of leaving everyone on the same default. Admins can also assign a different default model to individual enterprise teams: mark the model key as overridable and update team-mappings.json so a team can choose its own preferred default, while everyone else inherits the enterprise default.
Model defaults in managed settings are generally available with Copilot Business and Copilot Enterprise, in the GitHub Copilot app, Copilot CLI, and Visual Studio Code.
