Draft pull requests count toward pull request limits

By Steven Van ·

Maintainers can configure the setting to curb repository spam and the clutter, notifications, and CI runs it creates.

Repository maintainers on GitHub can now configure pull request limits to include drafts. Previously, drafts did not count toward a user’s limit, so someone could open unlimited drafts even when other pull requests were capped.

Including drafts in the limit

The setting lets maintainers count draft pull requests toward the same user limit. GitHub’s announcement says this helps reduce the clutter, notifications, and CI runs associated with repository spam.
