Claude Opus 5.5 is now available in GitHub Copilot

Copilot Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise users can now pick Claude Opus 5.5 in the model picker, with rollout arriving gradually.
Claude Opus 5.5 is now available in GitHub Copilot, alongside the existing lineup of models. Anthropic's newest Opus model can be used for agentic coding, long-running agentic tasks, and knowledge work. In GitHub's early testing, it resolved tasks comparably to Claude Opus 5 while using significantly fewer steps and tokens, and it recovered quickly from errors in multistep tasks.
The model is available to Copilot Pro+, Max, Business, and Enterprise users, selectable in the model picker in Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, Copilot CLI, the Copilot coding agent, the Copilot app, github.com, GitHub Mobile, JetBrains IDEs, Xcode, and Eclipse. Rollout is gradual, so it may not appear for everyone immediately. It is billed at provider list pricing under usage-based billing, and its text outputs carry Anthropic's watermark, which does not affect meaning, quality, readability, tokens, or cost.
