CMS Update: Multiplayer Cursors
By Steven Van ·
Collaborators can see each other's cursors in CMS formatted text and on the Canvas, and formatted text gains Vimeo and website embeds.
Formatted text fields in the Framer CMS and on the Canvas now support collaborative editing with multiplayer cursors, so collaborators can see who is editing and where. It is part of the CMS update published October 27, 2026.
Collaboration and cursors
Multiplayer cursors work in CMS formatted text and on the Canvas. Canvas cursors have also been refreshed to be more compact and to have higher contrast.
Formatted text and CMS changes
- Formatted text fields now support website embeds and Vimeo videos, added through an updated Insert menu.
- In the CMS view, collections can be filtered by references and multi-references.
- New menu actions let users edit, open and discard temporary items.
Fixes and improvements
Fixes include references, slugs and folders in duplicated collections, missing CMS content in detail page image exports, duplicated formatted text after merging branches, and detail pages breaking when a breakpoint was pasted. Other fixes cover inline code shortcuts on international keyboards, embed previews flashing in dark mode, Insert menu focus and keyboard selection, and mismatched item counts in pages and the CMS.
Improvements include multi-reference pickers and keyboard navigation, CMS table cell selection, badges and toolbars, and the performance of item editors and large tables. Editing formatted text inside components, image loading in formatted text, code block previews and the handling of unfinished CMS items were also improved.
