Figma adds a way to reclaim vector paths from text on a path
A new toolbar option separates text and path again after attaching text to a path accidentally turns a shape, like a button rectangle, into a text path.
Figma has added a toolbar option to reclaim vector paths from text on a path, letting designers separate the two again once text has been attached to a path. The change targets a specific annoyance: attaching text to a path could turn what was meant to be a plain rectangle into a text path by accident, for example when building a button. With this option, that path can be recovered as its own vector.
