Motion adds custom styles, audio, text animations and Lottie export

Figma's Motion beta now saves reusable animation styles, adds audio to the timeline, animates text by character, word or line, and exports Lottie.

Motion in Figma now supports custom animation styles, audio, text animations and Lottie export, all in an open beta release.

Custom animation styles: save a style with custom easing, duration and other variable-backed properties, then apply it across designs. Styles can be combined into a richer animation saved as a single pattern, and published to libraries so every file draws from the same sets. Figma agent and coding agents can apply styles automatically via MCP or Skills.
Audio: drag an audio file onto any motion clip or timeline, then trim, split and reposition it against keyframes. Audio exports alongside the animation in MP4 and WebM.
Text animation: animate individual characters, words or lines within a text layer. The text stays fully editable after the animation is applied.
Lottie export: export animations as a Lottie or dotLottie file.
