Figma's MCP server now builds Slides and FigJam boards
The MCP server can also round-trip Figma Make designs with code and export assets via a new download_assets tool.
The Figma MCP server now works beyond the canvas: it can create and update decks in Figma Slides, generate FigJam boards, and roundtrip designs with code in Figma Make.
- In Figma Slides, the server can pull content from sources like Slack, Google Drive, and release notes to draft or refresh a deck against an existing template.
- In FigJam, it can generate boards pre-populated with live data pulled from tools like Slack, Asana, Notion, and Hex, rather than starting from a blank board.
- In Figma Make, designs can move between code and canvas: a Make preview can be brought into Figma as editable design layers, and design changes made on the canvas can be pulled back into the code, ready to push as a PR.
- The server now supports custom uploaded fonts, so prompted designs and slides render in a team's actual typefaces instead of web-safe substitutes.
- A new download_assets tool lets images and icons be exported from design files as SVG, PDF, JPG, or PNG.
