Figma's agent chat can now pop out into its own window
May's release notes also add a vector eraser, new auto-spacing options, text balancing, and Community skills for the Figma agent.
Figma's latest round of release notes covers updates to Figma across design, the desktop app and the Figma agent.
- The agent chat panel can now open in its own window on the desktop app for macOS and Windows, so it stays visible while you switch tools or tabs.
- Vector editing gets an eraser and a drag-to-fill paint bucket, so you can erase stray marks or recolor multiple regions by hand. Press Shift+E to switch to the eraser in vector edit mode or Draw mode.
- Auto layout's auto spacing adds two new options, "Around" and "Evenly", alongside the existing default (now renamed "Between"), matching spacing patterns already available in CSS.
- Text wrap adds "Balance", which distributes text evenly across lines, and "Pretty", which avoids stranding a single word on the last line. Both can be set on a text layer, a text style, or an individual paragraph, and work across Figma Slides, Figma Buzz and Figma Sites.
- The Figma agent can now use skills from the Community: browse over 50 in the AI skills library, ask the agent to package a repeatable workflow into a new skill, and publish your own skills for others to try or remix.
- The Figma MCP server can now run Figma Weave tools from clients like ChatGPT, Claude or Cursor, so an agent can find a Weave tool, run it, and return the result in the conversation.
Admins on Enterprise and Organization plans also gained centrally managed MCP authorization through their identity provider, and the ability to choose which skills, templates, libraries and Make kits get recommended to their organization. Full details in the release notes.
