Envato introduces MonoDesk to handle creative business admin

By Steven Van ·

Envato’s MonoDesk puts proposals, projects, a client portal, invoices and an AI Co-Worker in one browser workspace for freelance creatives, free during beta.

Envato introduced MonoDesk on October 22, calling it “a whole new app from our team” built to handle the boring bits of creative work. It’s a browser-based workspace for freelance creatives and small studios that keeps leads, proposals, projects, client approvals and invoices in one place. MonoDesk has been in free public beta since March 3.

Official MonoDesk announcement demo.

How it works

MonoDesk follows a job from the first lead to the final invoice. It drafts a branded proposal from an email, brief, call transcript or voice note, shows you when the client opens it, and lets them sign online. An accepted proposal becomes a project with its milestones, tasks and scope already set up. From there you get a weekly planner with Google Calendar sync, time tracking, and invoices from 20 templates with deposits, tax, part-payments and 12 currencies.

Clients get a branded portal link with no account or password, where they can follow the timeline and approve deliverables. An AI Co-Worker works on your real clients, projects and tasks to plan your day, start invoices and proposals, and draft client updates. Nothing goes to a client without your approval.

Availability and pricing

MonoDesk runs in the browser and works best on a laptop or desktop. There’s no native mobile app. Accounts created now get every feature free until December 31, 2026. After that, MonoDesk plans a Free plan for one person and up to three clients, Core at $19 a month and Pro at $29 a month with two seats, though it says those prices may change. Pro adds client research, a meeting assistant and an MCP server for Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor.

Why it matters

Envato is best known for creative assets through Envato Elements. MonoDesk moves it into the business side of freelancing, replacing the mix of task boards, spreadsheets and invoicing tools many creatives use with one workspace.
