Music and Sound Effects
By Steven Van ·
Enterprise customers can set enable_logging=false on music and sound effects API calls, and Sound Effects can now return WAV audio.
Zero Retention Mode now covers ElevenLabs' music and sound effects API endpoints. ElevenLabs says Zero Retention Mode is for enterprise customers only, and a request opts in by sending enable_logging=false.
Which endpoints are covered
The Music endpoints that generate audio or composition plans support the mode:
- POST /v1/music and POST /v1/music/stream
- POST /v1/music/detailed and POST /v1/music/detailed/stream
- POST /v1/music/plan (composition plan)
- POST /v1/music/stem-separation
- POST /v1/music/video-to-music
- POST /v1/sound-generation (Sound Effects)
Endpoints that must keep audio to work are not covered. That includes POST /v1/music/upload and the /v1/music/finetunes endpoints, where training data is retained for 30 days and the trained model is kept.
Limits on the mode
Music requests that set store_for_inpainting=true are rejected in this mode, because that parameter asks ElevenLabs to store the song. When the mode is on, logging of request inputs and outputs is restricted, as is logging of the account email address. The mode applies only to API requests. Web UI traffic is never covered. ElevenLabs also notes that troubleshooting support is limited, because it cannot diagnose issues with requests it does not log.
Access is for select enterprise customers. ElevenLabs may restrict it if it judges a use case high risk, if an automated system flags the account, or at its sole discretion.
WAV output for Sound Effects
Sound Effects now accepts WAV output formats: wav_8000, wav_16000, wav_22050, wav_24000, wav_32000, wav_44100 and wav_48000.
