Duolingo has acquired Animade, a London-based animation and motion design studio known for character animation, brand work, and interactive experiences. The studio joins Duolingo's Design Studio, adding capacity for product innovation and growth experiments across the company, and expanding Duolingo's creative presence in the UK.
Mig Reyes, Duolingo's Head of Design, said motion design has become "a core part of how we help learners understand, enjoy, and return to Duolingo every day." Animade, founded in 2010, has built its reputation on expressive motion systems and character animation for technology companies and brands. Terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
