draw.io can fill a diagram from a Google Sheet

By Steven Van ·

draw.io data sources copy selected Sheet columns into shape data. The sheet must be link-shared, and refresh is manual.

On October 27, draw.io showed data sources that copy a Google Sheet into diagram shapes. The post says File, Page Setup, Data Sources. The docs put it under File, Page Setup, Advanced, then Edit next to Data Sources.

The sheet must be shared to anyone with the link, as Viewer. The first row names the columns, and the key column is unique. Selected columns become shape data, visible to anyone who can open the diagram. Refresh is manual. You can link existing shapes or generate them from a template, and choose what happens when a row disappears.

Limits are 20 sources a page, 10 MB, 10,000 rows, and 10,000 connectors. The desktop app cannot load data sources. CSV URLs work too. This is not the older add-on that inserts a diagram into a spreadsheet.
