Codex 0.157.0 adds GPT-6 Sol and Luna with Bedrock support, plus default fullscreen transcripts and automatic background-server startup.
Codex 0.157.0 adds two new models, GPT-6 Sol and Luna, with Amazon Bedrock support and migration prompts to help users move off older models.
The release also changes the terminal interface:
- Fullscreen transcripts are now on by default, and Shift-click extends text selections.
- Eligible interactive sessions now start a background server automatically, with recovery choices if server settings are incompatible.
- An f shortcut forks conversations that are open in another app, preserving drafts and queued prompts.
- /import now works in remote sessions and local background-server sessions.
- Terminal rendering adds Unicode bullets, checkboxes, aligned equations, and optimization notation.
Bug fixes in this release cover voice conversations surviving thread switches, unsent question answers recovering into the composer without disrupting active history searches, tmux mouse settings and SSH scrollback behaviour, proxy routing for realtime connections and web search, longer file-upload retries with a five-minute upload timeout, and stricter enforcement of network restrictions across redirects.
