Codex 0.155.0 adds experimental voice chat, Touch ID for MCP on Mac, and task management in the agents overview.
Codex 0.155.0 adds experimental voice conversations to the TUI: live transcripts and microphone controls, turned on through /experimental. The release also brings several other changes to the command-line agent.
- The TUI status row now shows live reasoning summaries while a turn runs, plus a completion timestamp once it finishes.
- The agents overview gains task hiding, archiving and deletion, along with worktree ownership details and confirmed deletion of clean managed worktrees.
- Touch ID verification is now available for MCP requests in local TUI sessions on supported Macs.
- Daemon update schedules are configurable, a new codex app-server daemon update command was added, and saved threads and active goals can now recover after a daemon restart.
- Amazon Bedrock can obtain AWS credentials from configured commands, with caching, expiration-based refresh and authentication recovery.
Bug fixes in this release include saving accepted prompts even when compaction fails before a turn starts, fixed tmux resize and transcript viewport issues, more accurate reporting of expired MCP OAuth credentials, and blocking Windows-process escapes from restricted WSL sandboxes.
