US teachers get free access to Claude for Teachers

Verified K-12 educators can sign up through June 2027 for a version built around lesson planning, standards alignment and admin work.
Verified K-12 teachers in the US now get free access to Claude for Teachers, a version of Claude built around lesson planning and admin work. It connects to Learning Commons, so lesson plans are scaffolded against academic standards in all 50 states, and it pulls in curricula such as OpenSciEd and IM v.360 from Illustrative Mathematics.
The tool also connects to nine edtech partners: ASSISTments, Brisk Teaching, Canva Education, Coteach, Diffit, Eedi, MagicSchool, Snorkl and TeachFX. It includes Claude Code and Cowork, so a teacher can hand off a recurring task, such as reviewing each day's de-identified exit tickets and adjusting the next day's plan, and have it run automatically every school day.
Claude for Teachers comes with its own terms: training is off by default for verified teacher accounts, and student data is covered by a K-12 Data Processing Addendum aligned with FERPA. It's free for verified US K-12 educators, with sign-up open through June 30, 2027 for a full year of access. A separate offering for schools and districts launched on August 28, 2026.
