ChatGPT team tasks automate recurring work your team shares
By Steven Van ·
Business and Enterprise teams can schedule shared ChatGPT tasks, like a weekly shipped-and-blocked update, that teammates can review and edit together.
OpenAI announced team tasks in ChatGPT on October 20. You can automate recurring work, like pulling together what shipped and what’s blocked every Friday, and share the job with your team instead of maintaining it on your own.

A team task belongs to a team in ChatGPT rather than one person. It runs in the cloud on a schedule, at a set date and time, or when something happens in a connected app, such as a new Gmail email or Slack message. It uses the team’s approved tools and connections, so ChatGPT doesn’t need to stay open.
Teammates can review each run’s results and edit the instructions to change what the next update covers, which keeps the task running when its creator is away. Tasks don’t inherit the creator’s personal memories, custom instructions or chat history.
Team tasks are available in ChatGPT Business and Enterprise workspaces, and admins control who can create them.
