ChatGPT gets a new image model built for complex edits

ChatGPT Images 2.0 adds sharper editing, flexible aspect ratios and multilingual text, and its gpt-image-2 model is now in the API too.
ChatGPT can now generate images with ChatGPT Images 2.0, a new model built for more complex visual tasks. It handles sharper editing, richer layouts and flexible aspect ratios, with stronger multilingual text rendering and real-world knowledge up to a December 2025 cutoff.
The update is available to all ChatGPT and Codex users, and the underlying gpt-image-2 model is also available in the API. Full details are in the announcement.
