GPT-6 Astra: A New Generation of Intelligence
Rolling out over the coming days to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users, plus the OpenAI API, Azure and Bedrock.
OpenAI's new model for ChatGPT, GPT-6 Astra, brings advances in computer use, browsing, coding and professional work. It is rolling out first to a limited set of organisations, with availability over the coming days for ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business and Enterprise users, and through the OpenAI API, Microsoft Azure and AWS Bedrock.
For creators, OpenAI points to several specific changes:
- Stronger visual judgment in the websites, games and applications Astra builds, including sites created, hosted and shared directly from a prompt with Sites in ChatGPT.
- Better adherence to existing templates when producing documents, spreadsheets and presentations, matching a user's writing and visual style.
- Training to pull in only the context that matters to a task, rather than repeating information that isn't needed in outputs.
- Faster computer use: in OpenAI's latency tests on OSWorld 2.0, Astra scored 72.6% at roughly 40 minutes per task, against 65.7% at roughly 75 minutes for GPT-5.6 Sol.
Full details are in OpenAI's announcement.
