The upgraded search works the same way in the sidebar on web, iOS and Android, with filters to narrow results.
ChatGPT's chat search is faster and covers more ground. From the sidebar, a single search now spans chats, projects, images, and documents at once, and works the same way across web, iOS, and Android. Filters let you narrow results, and selecting an item opens it directly in ChatGPT.
Announced 15 July 2026.
