CapCut gets Dreamina Seedance 2.5, ByteDance's AI video model

Seedance 2.5 generates single 30-second clips natively, with 4K output and up to 50 multimodal references for scene control.
CapCut has confirmed that Dreamina Seedance 2.5, ByteDance's newest AI video model, is arriving on the platform. According to the announcement, the integration promises seamless generation and editing, support for up to 50 multimodal references, and 30-second scenes rendered in a single shot, with finer creative control and more reliable results for creators.
30-second scenes in one shot, no stitching
The headline change is duration. Seedance 2.5 can generate a single continuous 30-second clip natively, rather than stitching together shorter segments the way most current tools do. ByteDance has also confirmed a beta long-video mode that stretches output to as much as 180 seconds. For CapCut users, that means fewer awkward cuts between AI-generated shots and a smoother path from prompt to a full scene that actually holds together over time.
Up to 50 multimodal references for tighter control
Seedance 2.5 raises the reference ceiling dramatically, accepting up to 50 multimodal inputs, up from 12 in the previous generation. Those inputs can include scripts, images, audio clips, sound effects, storyboards, 3D white models, and style guides, all fused into one unified generation pipeline. The practical payoff is consistency: characters, motion, and visual style stay coherent across a scene because the model is reading your full creative direction rather than guessing from a single text prompt.
Native 4K and joint audio-video generation
Under the hood, ByteDance says Seedance 2.5 renders at 4K natively instead of upscaling from a lower resolution, with 10-bit color depth that leaves more headroom for post-production grading. It also uses a joint audio-video system where sound is co-generated with the picture inside the same latent space, so audio is produced in parallel with the video rather than fitted afterward. Inside CapCut, pairing that output with the app's multi-track timeline, auto-captions, and trending effects gives creators a generation-to-edit workflow in one place.
What it means for CapCut creators
Seedance 2.5 was unveiled at ByteDance's Volcano Engine FORCE conference and entered global enterprise beta ahead of a public launch targeted for early July 2026. For everyday CapCut creators, the promise is straightforward: longer, more controllable AI clips that drop directly into the editor they already use. It is worth noting the rollout arrives against a copyright backdrop, with ByteDance adding C2PA watermarking and content filters after pressure from major studios, so expect guardrails around recognizable faces and copyrighted characters.
