Cap speeds share-link transcription on its own GPUs
By Steven Van ·
Transcription for shareable links is up to 11 times faster across 25 languages. Cap's public changelog does not list this change yet.
On October 29, Cap said transcription for shareable links now runs on its own GPU farm. This is separate from the October 27 note about instant-recording processing.

Cap's post gives four before-and-after times. Under a minute goes from 3.7 seconds to 0.3. One to five minutes goes from 5.3 seconds to 0.8. Five to fifteen minutes goes from 6.9 seconds to 1.4. A one-hour recording goes from 18 seconds to 11.5. Cap calls the top of that range 11 times faster, across 25 languages.
The web changelog checked for this article does not list the GPU transcription change, so the post is the source for the times. It does not say which plans include share-link transcription.
