Blender now publishes a live roadmap at code.blender.org/roadmap, tracking projects in development for the upcoming 5.2 LTS release and beyond. Blender's roadmap groups work by status: in development, on hold, in design, and not started.
Projects currently in development include Android platform support, a shared "project" environment for linking blend-files, OpenPBR Surface shader support alongside an upgraded Principled BSDF, native gaussian splat importing and rendering in EEVEE and Cycles, a FLIP-based fluid system in geometry nodes, layered compositing, layered actions for animation, and a rework of texture layers, painting and baking. Collection import and dynamic overrides are listed as in development but currently on hold.
The roadmap also lists what already shipped in 5.2 LTS, including hair dynamics, a texture cache for high-resolution textures, raytracing and instancing improvements in EEVEE, remote asset libraries, and Grease Pencil textured brushes and a new bucket fill algorithm. Two compositor projects, multi-stage compositing and per-sample compositing, are listed as upcoming but not yet started.
