Bitrig builds CarPlay apps inside its simulator

On October 27, Bitrig said it can build CarPlay apps and test them in its simulator without a CarPlay entitlement or a paid Apple Developer account. Xcode’s CarPlay Simulator and a real car still need both.
Bitrig’s article says it knows which templates each CarPlay category allows and follows Apple’s Human Interface Guidelines. A device menu switches the iPhone and CarPlay screens. The agent can test in the simulator, and you can select an element to request a change. Bitrig also walks through requesting the entitlement. One click runs the app on an iPhone and connects it to the car.
Bitrig says audio and video CarPlay apps will work on Apple HomeView when it arrives November 13. The homepage text checked that day did not mention CarPlay.
