More builds at the same time

Base44 raises the limit from 5 to 20 simultaneous builds across main and branches, so teams working on several branches wait less.
Base44 apps can now run up to 20 builds at once across main and its branches, up from 5. The change is aimed at people and teams who work on several branches together and would otherwise wait for a build slot.
How parallel builds work
Each branch has its own chat, live preview and version history, and builds on its own. You can send a request on one branch, switch to another and keep building while the first finishes. The branch menu shows which branches are building. The limit applies to the app as a whole, so a team's builds on main and on every branch count toward the same 20. The branches documentation describes the workflow.
Ways to start a parallel build
- Create a branch from the branch menu and describe what to build. It always starts from main.
- Branch from an earlier message in the main chat to try a different direction from that point (desktop browser, not while the app is building).
- Move a queued prompt to its own branch so it runs at the same time instead of waiting. This is available on main in a desktop browser, on apps you build on your own. Apps with collaborators use a shared queue, which does not offer it.
What stays on main
Some actions always happen on main, even while you are on a branch. These include publishing, changing secrets, connectors, automations, workflows and in-app agents, and asking the AI to add, change, delete or import records. Records are shared live data across main and every branch.
Base44 listed the change in its October 18, 2026 product release notes. The source does not say which plans the higher limit applies to.
