Let your workspace join your app
By Steven Van ·
Base44 apps can now let anyone in a workspace collaborate by default for Base Code apps, while other apps stay invite-only until changed.
Anyone in a workspace can now join an app as a collaborator without an invite. Base44 added a setting called "Who can collaborate on this app?" with two options, described in its access documentation.
- Workspace members: anyone in the workspace becomes a collaborator when they open the app. Workspace guests still need an invite, and people can still be invited by email.
- Invited only: only people who are invited can collaborate.
Base Code apps use Workspace members by default. All other apps stay on Invited only, so they work as before until the setting is changed. Only the app owner and workspace admins can change it. Other collaborators can see which option is on but cannot switch it.
To change it, open the app editor, click the Add collaborator icon, choose Invite collaborators, and pick an option next to the setting. If an app moves from Workspace members back to Invited only, people who already joined from the workspace stay collaborators. They carry a "From workspace" label in the list, so they can be found and removed if needed.
