Auto approve still asks before widening access

By Steven Van ·

Auto approve applies to everyone building in an app, and steps that run without asking are labelled in the chat.

Giving someone write access or loosening who can see or change a table requires approval in Base44, even when the change was explicitly requested in chat. These checks remain in place with Auto approve enabled.

What runs automatically

Auto approve lets most steps that would pause for approval run on their own. Steps that need something from the user still ask. Anything that runs without asking is labelled auto-approved in the chat, providing a record of what happened.

One setting for the whole app

The setting applies to everyone building in the app, and the selected preference stays in place even if the default changes later. To switch it on or off, open More options next to Build at the bottom of the AI chat. The choice applies immediately, with nothing to save.

The auto-approved label also opens controls for managing the setting. Turning Auto approve off restores review before steps run. The Auto approve documentation explains the controls.
