Apple Creator Studio adds MotionVFX content and new AI tools

By Steven Van ·

Existing Apple Creator Studio subscribers get the November update free, adding Generate Fill, a Logic Pro assistant and iWork assistants in beta.

Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Pixelmator Pro and the iWork apps are getting new AI tools in Apple Creator Studio, along with built-in MotionVFX content. The update arrives on the App Store in November and is free for existing subscribers, according to Apple's announcement.

Final Cut Pro, Motion and Compressor

Final Cut Pro for Mac now includes MotionVFX directly in the app. Apple describes it as thousands of elements, including templates, graphics, titles and transitions, plus tools for rotoscoping, tracking and color grading. The Content Hub, a library of Apple-curated stock video, photos and backgrounds, is also available inside Final Cut Pro.

  • Any image on the timeline can be opened in Pixelmator Pro and saved back to the project automatically, with no reimporting.
  • Images can be generated from text descriptions inside a project, then edited and restyled.
  • Other additions are more keyframe easing options, the ability to disconnect clips from the primary storyline and place them anywhere on the timeline, and 23 new transcription languages.
  • Motion gets a set of MotionVFX plug-ins for color grading, 3D camera tracking and one-click selection. It also gains text-to-image generation, round-tripping images to Pixelmator Pro, keyframe easing options and a new Displacement filter.
  • Compressor can encode Cinematic mode video recorded on iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Duo.

Generate Fill in Pixelmator Pro

Pixelmator Pro adds Generate Fill. Users circle an area of an image and describe the change, or use the existing Free Selection, Quick Selection or Magnetic Selection tools for more precision. Apple says the result matches the lighting, perspective and texture of the surrounding image, and Super Resolution upscales the generated content. Results can be merged into existing layers or inserted as new layers with masking.

Logic Pro

  • A new assistant, in beta on Mac, uses a mix of Apple-built and third-party models. It helps with production workflows, starting a song, setting up a vocal track from a single prompt, or refining an open project.
  • A redesigned Browser on Mac brings loops, instruments and effect patches together. An on-device audio analysis tool called music understanding classifies and tags added sounds, and the library includes Splice.
  • Stem Splitter can now separate drums, so drum parts can be isolated, replaced or rebalanced without the original multitracks.
  • A Producer Pack from Sergio George includes his piano sound and Latin jazz and salsa loops.
  • Logic Pro on Mac and iPad gets a new Liquid Glass design.
  • Voice Memo Studio Sound reduces room ambience and background noise in recordings from supported iPhone models, with the option to keep editing in Logic Pro.

Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Freeform

Keynote, Pages and Numbers each get an assistant in beta, built on Apple models and OpenAI, that works from the document's context. In Keynote it helps design, animate and refine slides. In Pages it drafts, restructures and fine-tunes text. In Numbers it calculates, visualizes and organizes data, recommends chart types with a one-tap preview, and builds custom tables.

The three apps also add Model Context Protocol (MCP) support, which lets external AI agents and tools read content, make edits and run automated actions. They gain stock video in the Content Hub and new templates and themes. Keynote adds support for the Keynote Interchange Format (.keyx), an open, JSON-based bundle format meant to be readable by external tools, developer workflows and AI agents.

Freeform adds text styles and board background colors. In December it will gain image editing in Pixelmator Pro and the ability to generate editable shapes from text descriptions.

Pricing and availability

New subscribers pay $12.99 (U.S.) a month or $129 a year, with a one-month free trial. Buying a new Mac or qualifying iPad includes three months free. College students and educators pay $2.99 a month or $29.99 a year. Creator Studio is a universal purchase on the App Store, and up to six family members can share it through Family Sharing.
