Enterprise admins can read and change Claude Tag's Slack channel and workspace settings with an Admin API key, in beta.
Claude Enterprise organizations can now manage Claude Tag settings programmatically. Anthropic has put the Claude Tag API into beta, as noted in its October 20 release notes. Requests need the experimental-claude-tag-2026-10-21 beta header.
What the endpoints do
The /v1/organizations/claude_tag/ endpoints cover four things:
- Read and change Claude Tag settings on Slack channels.
- Read and change Claude Tag settings on Slack workspaces.
- Show which settings apply in a given channel and where each one comes from.
- Attach Access bundles.
Authentication and availability
Calls use an Admin API key, which the organization's primary owner creates in claude.ai. The key needs the read:claude_tag or write:claude_tag scope. The API is for Claude Enterprise organizations and is not available to Claude Platform (Claude Console) organizations.
About Claude Tag
Claude Tag lets people in a Slack channel tag @Claude into a task, such as reproducing a bug and opening a pull request or turning a decision thread into a doc. Claude posts a checklist in the thread as it works. Per the Claude Tag documentation, it is in public beta on Team and Enterprise plans, and an Owner sets it up at claude.ai/admin-settings/claude-tag. The documentation says an Owner or Claude Tag admin configures connectors, plugins and skills for all of Slack, one workspace, or one channel.
