Admin API methods leave beta, and Claude Sonnet 4.5 users must migrate before its November 30 retirement on the Claude API.

Developers can now call Anthropic's Admin API methods outside the beta namespace. The September 30 update also deprecated Claude Sonnet 4.5, with retirement on the Claude API scheduled for November 30, 2026.

Admin API methods leave beta

The methods cover organization info, members, invites, workspaces, API keys, rate limits, service accounts, workload identity federation, customer-managed encryption keys, and compliance settings. Call them under client.organization in the SDKs or ant organization in the CLI. The existing client.beta.organization and ant beta:organization paths remain available.

The change is included in Python SDK 1.10.0, TypeScript SDK 0.130.0, C# SDK 12.52.0, Go SDK 1.77.0, Java SDK 2.67.0, PHP SDK 0.53.0, Ruby SDK 1.75.0, and ant CLI 1.37.0.

Move Sonnet 4.5 workloads before retirement

Claude Sonnet 4.5 (claude-sonnet-4-5-20250929) remains functional but is no longer recommended. Anthropic recommends migrating to Claude Sonnet 5.5 (claude-sonnet-5-5) before retirement, when requests to the old model will fail.

To locate affected usage, open the Usage page in Claude Console, click Export, and review the downloaded CSV by API key and model. The model deprecations announcement recommends testing applications with the replacement before the retirement date. Partner-operated platforms, including Amazon Bedrock and Google Cloud, set their own retirement schedules.
