Claude Max and Team plans now include monthly API credits

Max subscribers receive $100 or $200 USD a month, while Team credits are pooled and capped at $500 USD.
Max 5x subscribers get $100 USD in monthly Claude API credits, while Max 20x subscribers get $200 USD. Anthropic also includes a pooled monthly balance for Team plans, including discounted Nonprofit and Scientists plans.
Credit amounts and renewal
Team plans receive $20 USD per Standard seat and $100 USD per Premium seat, capped at $500 USD a month. Each month's credit is based on the seats on the plan at the start of that billing month. Added seats count toward the next month's credit.
Credits arrive each billing cycle, shortly after the plan payment is processed, or monthly for annual plans. Unused credits expire at the end of that period and do not roll over. A Claude Platform payment method is not required.
How to claim the credits
The plan must be active and in good standing. New subscribers can claim credits after seven days. Plans purchased through iOS or Android are eligible, but credits must be claimed on claude.ai in a web browser. Free, Pro and Enterprise plans are excluded.
Max subscribers open Settings, then Billing. Team Primary Owners or Owners open Organization settings, then Billing. In the API credits section, they select a Claude Console organization and accept the program terms by linking it. The person claiming must also hold an Owner, Admin or Billing role in that Console organization.
Each plan can link to one Console organization, and each organization can receive credits from one plan. Changing the linked organization requires contacting support. Once claimed, the balance appears under Promotional credits in the Console's billing settings, where users can create an API key to start making requests.
What the balance covers
The credits cover the Claude API, Claude Managed Agents, the Claude Agent SDK and the playground through Claude Console. They do not cover Claude Code, extra usage in the Claude apps, or usage through Claude Platform on AWS, Amazon Bedrock, Google Cloud or Microsoft Foundry. Claude and Claude Code usage limits remain unchanged.
All API keys and workspaces in the linked organization share the balance. Included credits are spent before purchased credits, and usage still counts toward the organization's monthly spend cap. Linked organizations move to at least the Start tier, or at least the Build tier if their monthly credits exceed $200 USD.
When the included balance runs out, requests continue using purchased credits if available. Otherwise, requests stop until more credits arrive or are purchased. Usage is never charged to the Claude subscription; organizations invoiced through Anthropic sales are billed as usual for usage beyond the credits.
