WhisperType pastes dictation on a Mac

WhisperType is free dictation for the Mac.

Press a shortcut, speak, and press it again. The transcript pastes into the field you are in. Return while you are recording starts a new paragraph. It needs macOS 14.6 or later, microphone access, and Accessibility access if you want it to paste. Without Accessibility, the text stays on the clipboard.

Transcription is Groq's whisper-large-v3 model with your own API key. The README says the audio goes from the Mac to Groq and nowhere else. The license is MIT, copyright 2026 Vojtech Rinik. Groq's charges for the key are separate.
