Admin supports GTIN suggestions and autocomplete.

Shopify now checks barcodes against the GS1 registry and suggests which ones to mark as GTINs, the globally unique numbers behind most retail barcodes.

New barcodes registered with GS1 are marked as GTIN automatically. Saved Custom barcodes get a suggestion you can accept or dismiss, including in bulk from the products and inventory editors.

You can also hover over a registered barcode to compare your vendor and product name with GS1's record. Those notices are informational: you don't need to match GS1's wording, and nothing blocks saving. Saved barcode types stay unchanged unless you accept a suggestion.
