## What is Mosaics?

Mosaics is a free interactive image experiment from dqnamo’s design-engineering lab. It re-lays a picture as a three-dimensional Roman mosaic, with controls for tile density, detail, contour tracing, stone colors, grout, tilt, borders and gold leaf. Choose marble and stone or glass smalti, move the lamp, rotate the scene and compare it with the source image.

The public browser experiment does not require an account or payment.

## Features

- Load an image from a file or paste it from the clipboard

- Adjust tile density, contour rows, borders and grout

- Switch between marble and stone or glass smalti finishes

- Add gold leaf and compare oil-lamp or daylight lighting

- Hold to compare the mosaic with the original image
