## What is Amazon SES?

Amazon Simple Email Service provides email delivery that applications and newsletter tools can use through AWS. It supplies the sending infrastructure while your application manages the message content and recipients. Self-hosted newsletter software can use SES as its delivery service.

New accounts need production approval before unrestricted recipient sending is available. Daily sending quotas and sending speed depend on the account and approved limits. Delivery charges also depend on the selected pricing plan, outgoing data, and optional features.

Does SES include a newsletter editor?

SES provides delivery infrastructure. Use your own application or a newsletter tool to manage subscribers, create campaigns, and handle subscription preferences.

Is sending capacity unlimited?

No. Production approval and account-specific daily quotas and sending rates apply. A low per-email price does not guarantee a particular burst rate.
