# X Rebuilds Livestream API

By Steven Van · 2026-09-22

The rebuilt API lets developers start, schedule and moderate broadcasts and pull live events for alerts and overlays.

X rebuilt its Livestream API to cover the full broadcast workflow through code rather than the app alone. Developers using the [X](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/x>) API can now start and schedule broadcasts, manage and moderate chat, and receive live events for building alerts and overlays. The [rebuilt API](<https://x.com/i/status/2102535041532186709>) is available now.
