# Wonder opens handles, letting users claim a namespace early

By Steven Van · 2026-08-07

The AI design tool lets anyone reserve a personal or studio handle from their account, free tier included.

Handles are now live in [Wonder](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/wonder-design>), the AI design tool at wonder.design. The announcement was short and pointed: grab yours before they're gone. In other words, Wonder just opened a namespace, and the good names will go fast.

## A land grab on the AI design canvas

A handle is your unique name on the platform, the identity attached to you and your work inside Wonder. Every platform that introduces handles goes through the same arc: short, clean names get claimed in the first days, and everyone who waits ends up with a compromise. Wonder is leaning into that urgency deliberately. The team has not published detailed docs on everything handles will unlock, but the move signals that identity, and likely sharing and discovery, are becoming part of the product rather than it staying a purely private workspace.

That trajectory makes sense. Design tools become sticky when work is attributable and shareable. Figma built community profiles, Dribbble built an entire industry on them, and an AI-native canvas like Wonder has an obvious incentive to let creators put a name on what they make and point people to it.

## Where Wonder fits, and why a handle there might matter

Wonder is one of the more credible entries in the design-to-code wave. It pairs an AI design agent with a real canvas: you describe what you want, the agent generates the interface, and you edit alongside it with proper layers, properties, and layout tools. The output is not a mockup, it is production React and Tailwind code, and MCP integration lets coding agents pull designs straight into a codebase. The pitch on the site is blunt: what you design is the code you ship.

The product is young, still working through its public alpha era, with a free tier and a Pro plan at 20 dollars a month. That youth is exactly why claiming a handle now is cheap insurance. If Wonder becomes a place where designers publish and share AI-built interfaces, the people who registered their name or brand early will be glad they did. If it stays a private workspace, you lost thirty seconds.

## Claiming yours

Sign in at wonder.design and claim your handle from your account. Use the same name you use everywhere else so your work stays findable, and if you run a studio or brand, grab that name too before someone else does.
