# Webflow custom code can now reference component props

By Steven Van · 2026-05-27

Code Embeds gain a connect-button link to props, locale, and page settings, plus a new Code prop, on all plans with custom code.

Custom code blocks in [Webflow](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/webflow>)'s Code Embeds can now reference component props, locale settings, and page settings directly, the same way they already reference CMS fields. Adding a reference from the connect button in the code editor supports most prop types, including Text, Number, Image, Link and Switch, so a Text prop can drive custom CSS to set per-instance styles, or feed a JSON-LD block built for AEO.

A new Code prop also lets a whole Code Embed element be connected, so SVG markup, third-party embeds, and other custom code can be swapped per instance. It's [rolling out now](<https://webflow.com/updates/use-component-props-in-custom-code>) on all plans with custom code.
