# Zero-config backends on Vercel AI Cloud

Vercel adds zero-config Python and TypeScript backend deployment, a Python SDK beta, and durable workflow orchestration.

Vercel now lets developers deploy backends built with popular Python and TypeScript frameworks without writing any configuration. The platform reads the framework and automatically provisions the infrastructure to run it, extending the Framework Defined Infrastructure model already used for frontend frameworks like Next.js to backends.

- Zero-config support for frameworks including FastAPI and Flask for Python, and Express, Hono, NestJS, and Nitro for TypeScript, with automatic per-endpoint, per-function, and per-request scaling, plus logs, traces, and metrics in the same dashboard as the frontend.

- A native Vercel Python SDK, available in beta via **pip install vercel**, providing access to Sandboxes for running untrusted code, a Runtime Cache, and Blob storage.

- Active CPU Pricing on Fluid compute, which bills by execution time rather than wall time, so there is no charge for idle waiting during workloads like agents that pause for input or external API calls.

- The Workflow Development Kit (WDK) for durable orchestration of long-running processes such as AI agent loops, data pipelines, or scheduled automations, with infrastructure provisioned automatically when a function is detected as durable.

- A new library of backend AI templates, including RAG pipelines covering ingestion, embedding, and retrieval at scale.
