# Vercel Passport is now in Public Beta

By Steven Van · 2026-06-17

Vercel Passport, now in public beta, lets Enterprise teams gate deployments behind Okta, Auth0, or other OIDC providers.

Enterprise teams can now gate access to their [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) deployments with [Vercel Passport](<https://vercel.com/docs/passport>), now in public beta, using their own identity provider. Visitors have to authenticate through Okta, Auth0, or any other OIDC-compatible provider before they can view a protected deployment.

- Reuse a single OIDC application across multiple projects

- Set a team default that applies automatically to new projects

- Assign Passport to existing projects in bulk

Once a visitor authenticates, Vercel injects a signed JWT into the **x-vercel-oidc-passport-token** request header, which can be read server-side to get the **external\_sub** claim, a stable visitor identifier from the identity provider.
