# Vercel Flags now supports JSON values

By Steven Van · 2026-05-07

A single Vercel Flags entry can now hold a JSON object, replacing sets of related flags like model, temperature, and max tokens.

[Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) Flags now [supports JSON values](<https://vercel.com/docs/flags/vercel-flags>), extending the existing support for booleans, strings, and numbers. That lets several related flags collapse into one: an A/B test that used to need separate *ai\_model*, *ai\_temperature*, and *ai\_max\_tokens* flags can now be a single flag whose variants each hold a full JSON object, for example a model id, temperature, max tokens, and system prompt together.

Vercel points to this for progressively routing traffic to a new model, running A/B tests between model configurations, or switching models quickly if a provider has issues.
