# Vercel BotID now leverages Vercel's verified bot directory

By Steven Van · 2025-08-12

Available in botid@1.5.0, Deep Analysis now names verified bots like ChatGPT Operator so developers can allow or block them individually.

BotID's Deep Analysis mode can now check incoming bots against [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>)'s directory of known and verified bots, available at bots.fyi, starting in botid@1.5.0. The checkBotId() function returns isVerifiedBot, verifiedBotName and verifiedBotCategory, so developers can allow specific trusted bots, such as ChatGPT Operator or other agentic bots that purchase on behalf of users, while still blocking other bots and sophisticated abuse.

For verified bots, Deep Analysis also surfaces source IP range, reverse DNS and user-agent validation, giving teams more context before deciding how to handle a request. Details are in Vercel's [documentation on handling verified bots](<https://vercel.com/docs/botid/verified-bots>).
