# Trace and debug eve agent sessions with Vercel Observability

By Steven Van · 2026-06-26

Agent Runs needs no setup, offers developer and business views, and retains data from 12 hours on Hobby to 30 days with Observability Plus.

Eve, Vercel's open-source agent framework, now has a built-in observability view. Every eve project automatically gets an Agent Runs tab in the [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) dashboard, with no instrumentation required.

The overview lists each run's trigger, duration, and token usage. Drilling into a run shows every turn, model call, and tool call, and runtime errors that used to vanish into function logs now show up against the step that failed.

- Developer mode shows raw tool names, input and output JSON, and per-step token counts.

- Business mode humanizes tool names, hides JSON, and generates a plain-English summary so a non-technical reviewer can audit what an agent did.

- Run data is encrypted by default. Retention is 12 hours on Hobby, 1 day on Pro, and 3 days on Enterprise; Pro and Enterprise teams can extend it to 30 days with **Observability Plus**.

- Teams running their own OpenTelemetry backend can still export AI SDK spans from agent/instrumentation.ts to destinations such as Braintrust or Datadog.
