# Spend Management now enabled by default on Pro

By Steven Van · 2025-09-09

Pro teams now get automatic budgets and spend alerts by default, with deployments unaffected unless a hard limit is set.

**Spend Management** is now switched on by default for Pro teams on [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>). New Pro teams get it automatically, and existing teams will have it enabled once they move to the new Pro pricing model.

- Each team gets a default budget based on its previous usage, if any; teams that already had a budget set keep it unchanged.

- Email alerts go out when a team nears its spend threshold, based on on-demand spend, and the threshold can be changed anytime in spend management settings.

- Deployments keep running without interruption unless a hard limit has been manually configured.

Vercel describes the change as giving teams proactive cost signals. More detail is in the [original announcement](<https://vercel.com/changelog/spend-management-now-enabled-by-default-on-pro>), alongside the broader updates to Pro pricing.
