# Self-serve domain renewals and redemptions now available

Manual renewals and recovery of expired domains now happen in the Vercel dashboard, with a registry-dependent fee for redemptions.

Domains registered with or bought through [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) can now be renewed by hand from the dashboard. Until now, [renewals were automatic only](<https://vercel.com/docs/projects/domains/renew-a-domain>).

To renew, open your team's Domains tab, click the three dots next to the domain and select **Renew**. A **Renew Domain** button is also on each domain detail page. A domain must be within 1 year of expiration to be eligible.

Expired domains that have a redemption period (typically 30 days) can be recovered from the dashboard too. Start redemption on the domain detail page. A redemption fee applies, depending on the domain registry, and not all top-level domains support redemptions.
