# Search domains without authentication

Anyone can now search domains and see registration and renewal prices through the Vercel CLI or API, with up to 200 names per request.

Domain availability and pricing can now be checked without a Vercel account or access token. It works through the [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) CLI and the Domains Registrar API, [per the API docs](<https://vercel.com/docs/rest-api/domains-registrar/get-domain-availability-and-pricing>).

- In the CLI, vercel domains search takes a keyword or domain fragment, for example vercel domains search acmesite --limit 5.

- In the API, a POST to /v1/registrar/domains/search checks 1 to 200 exact domain names in one request. Results come back in input order, showing whether each can be registered and, for available domains, registration and renewal prices in USD.

Authentication is still required to buy or manage domains.
