# Redirects and rewrites now available in Observability

By Steven Van · 2025-11-03

New Observability views show redirect and external rewrite traffic, with deeper breakdowns for Pro and Enterprise on Observability Plus.

Vercel now surfaces [redirect and external rewrite traffic](<https://vercel.com/docs/redirects>) inside [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>)'s Observability. External rewrites forward requests to APIs or sites outside a Vercel project, letting Vercel act as a reverse proxy or standalone CDN, and the new views make that traffic visible by hostname and path.

- All customers get two new views: total external rewrites, and external rewrites by hostname.

- **Pro** and **Enterprise** customers can upgrade to **Observability Plus** for connection latency to the external host, rewrites broken down by source and destination path, and routes and paths for redirect locations.

- Log drains now support Redirects, External Rewrites, and Cached External Rewrites.
