# Preview URLs optimized for multi-tenant platforms

By Steven Van · 2025-12-17

Preview URLs can now carry a tenant prefix before the "---", letting Pro and Enterprise teams route each tenant to its own preview deployment.

Preview deployments on [Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>) can now carry a dynamic prefix for multi-tenant apps. Adding any prefix before "---" in a preview URL, for example tenant-123---project-name-git-branch.yourdomain.dev, routes the request to that same deployment while passing the full hostname, prefix included, to the app's own code, which can then extract it and route accordingly. Previously, preview URLs matched a single deployment exactly and Vercel had no way to route domains to a specific one.

With the prefix in place, teams can:

- Create a unique preview URL for each tenant

- Encode metadata, routing context, or automation signals directly in the URL

The feature is available to **Pro** and **Enterprise** teams and requires a Preview Deployment Suffix, a Pro add-on. Details are in the [announcement](<https://vercel.com/platforms/docs/multi-tenant-platforms/preview-url-prefixes>).
