# Nuxt MCP Toolkit now supports MCP apps

By Steven Van · 2026-05-19

Tools built with the defineMcpApp macro return interactive HTML that Claude and ChatGPT render inline instead of plain text.

[Vercel](<https://creatorstoolbox.com/tools/vercel>)'s Nuxt MCP Toolkit now supports [MCP apps](<https://mcp-toolkit.nuxt.dev/apps/overview>), letting agent tools return interactive HTML that MCP clients like Claude and ChatGPT render inline instead of as plain text.

Tools are declared with a **defineMcpApp** macro. Inside the UI, the **useMcpApp** composable reads pre-hydrated data, triggers follow-up prompts, or calls other tools. Each Vue single-file component is bundled into a self-contained HTML file at build time and served from the app's MCP endpoint.
